Google Antigravity Free Tier Changes: What You Lose on Nov 2
On this page

If you use Google Antigravity for free, today is the day it changes. Google's own model documentation marks three models with the footnote "Will be removed on November 2, 2026": Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS-120b. For Free and Google AI Plus users, that leaves just one model.

Here's exactly what changes on each plan, what you can still use for free and your best options. Facts come from Antigravity's official models and plans pages, checked on 2 November 2026.

What changes today

On the Free and Google AI Plus plans, Antigravity goes from four models to one: Gemini 3.8 Flash. Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS-120b are removed. Google did not publish a separate announcement, so check the model picker in your app if anything looks different.

What about rate limits?

Google does not publish exact numbers, but its plans page describes the tiers like this:

PlanQuotaRefresh
Free"A meaningful quota"Weekly
Google AI Pro"A high, generous quota"Every five hours, up to a weekly limit
Google AI Ultra"The highest, most generous quota"Every five hours, highest weekly limit

Limits depend on available capacity, and more complex tasks use more quota. Pro and Ultra can buy extra AI credits when they run out (set "AI Credit Overages" to Always or Never).

Who is affected?

  • Free users lose all Claude models and GPT-OSS. You can keep coding with Gemini 3.8 Flash and unlimited tab completions.
  • Google AI Plus users are in the same position as Free for Antigravity models.
  • Google AI Pro trial users lose Claude 4.6 too. The newer Claude 5.5 models are only for paid (non-trial) Pro subscriptions, and Gemini 4 Argon is available on trials only with eligible premium devices.
  • Paid Google AI Pro and Ultra users lose Claude 4.6 but keep the newer Claude Sonnet 5.5, Claude Opus 5.5 and Gemini 4 Argon, so day-to-day impact is small.

Your options

1. Stay free with Gemini 3.8 Flash

For quick edits, explanations and small features, Gemini 3.8 Flash is still capable, and it is the one model offered on every plan.

2. Upgrade to Google AI Pro ($19.99/month)

Pro is now the cheapest way to keep Claude in Antigravity, and it also unlocks Gemini 4 Argon, higher five-hourly limits and 5 TB of Google storage. Remember Claude 5.5 needs a paid Pro plan, not a trial. Read more about Gemini 4 Argon.
